புறஜாதிகளும் தேவவசனத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டார்களென்று அப்போஸ்தலர்களும் யூதேயாவிலுள்ள சகோதரர்களும் கேள்விப்பட்டார்கள்.
And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
பேதுரு எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தபோது, விருத்தசேதனமுள்ளவர்கள் அவனுடனே வாதித்து:
And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,
விருத்தசேதனமில்லாத மனுஷரிடத்தில் நீ போய், அவர்களோடே புசித்தாயே என்றார்கள்.
Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.
அப்பொழுது பேதுரு நடந்த காரியங்களை வரிசையாக அவர்களுக்கு விவரித்துச் சொன்னான்:
But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying,
நான் யொப்பா பட்டணத்தில் ஜெபம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில் பரவசமாகி ஒரு தரிசனங்கண்டேன்; அதென்னவென்றால், நாலு முனைகளும் கட்டப்பட்ட பெரிய துப்பட்டியைப்போல ஒரு பாத்திரம் வானத்திலிருந்து இறங்கி என்னிடத்தில் வந்தது.
I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:
அதை நான் உற்றுப்பார்த்து கவனித்தபோது, பூமியிலுள்ள நாற்கால் ஜீவன்களையும், காட்டுமிருகங்களையும், ஊரும் பிராணிகளையும், ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளையும் கண்டேன்.
Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
பின்பு: பேதுருவே, எழுந்திரு, அடித்துப் புசி என்று என்னுடனே சொல்லுகிற ஒரு சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டேன்.
And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.
அதற்கு நான்: அப்படியல்ல, ஆண்டவரே, தீட்டும் அசுத்தமுமான யாதொன்றும் ஒருக்காலும் என் வாய்க்குள்ளே போனதில்லை என்றேன்.
But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.
இரண்டாம் விசை வானத்திலிருந்து சத்தம் உண்டாகி: தேவன் சுத்தமாக்கினவைகளை நீ தீட்டாக எண்ணாதே என்று என்னுடனே சொல்லிற்று.
But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
இப்படி மூன்று விசை உண்டானபின்பு எல்லாம் திரும்ப வானத்துக்கு எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்டது.
And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.
அப்பொழுதே செசரியாவிலிருந்து என்னிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பப்பட்ட மூன்று மனுஷர்கள் நான் இருந்த வீட்டுக்கு முன்னாலே வந்து நின்றார்கள்.
And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me.
நான் எவ்வளவும் சந்தேகப்படாமல் அவர்களுடனே கூடப்போகும்படி ஆவியானவர் எனக்குச் சொன்னார். இந்தப் பக்கம் இருக்கிற ஆறு சகோதரரும் என்னுடனேகூட வந்தார்கள்; நாங்கள் அந்த மனுஷன் வீட்டிற்குள் பிரவேசித்தோம்.
And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man's house:
அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் வீட்டிலே ஒரு தேவதூதன் நிற்கிறதைக் கண்டதாகவும், அந்தத் தூதன் அவனை நோக்கி: நீ யொப்பாவுக்கு ஆட்களை அனுப்பி, பேதுரு என்று மறுபேர்கொண்ட சீமோனை வரவழை;
And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;
நீயும் உன் வீட்டாரனைவரும் இரட்சிக்கப்படுவதற்கேற்ற வார்த்தைகளை அவன் உனக்குச் சொல்லுவான் என்று சொன்னதாகவும் எங்களுக்கு அறிவித்தான்.
Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
நான் பேசத்தொடங்கினபோது, பரிசுத்த ஆவி ஆதியிலே நம்மேல் இறங்கினதுபோல அவர்கள்மேலும் இறங்கினார்.
And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
யோவான் ஜலத்தினால் ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுத்தான், நீங்கள் பரிசுத்த ஆவியினால் ஞானஸ்நானம் பெறுவீர்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொன்ன வார்த்தையை அப்பொழுது நினைவுகூர்ந்தேன்.
Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
ஆதலால் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவை விசுவாசித்தவர்களாகிய நமக்கு தேவன் அருளின அந்த வரத்தை அவர்களுக்கும் அருளிச்செய்திருக்க, தேவனைத் தடுக்கிறதற்கு நான் எம்மாத்திரம் என்றான்.
Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
இவைகளை அவர்கள் கேட்டபோது அமர்ந்திருந்து: அப்படியானால் புறஜாதிகளுக்கும் தேவன் ஜீவனுக்கேதுவான மனந்திரும்புதலை அருளிச்செய்தார் என்று சொல்லி, தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்தினார்கள்.
When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
ஸ்தேவானினிமித்தம் எழும்பின உபத்திரவத்தினாலே சிதறிப்போனவர்கள் பெனிக்கே நாடு, சைப்பிரசு தீவு, அந்தியோகியா பட்டணம்வரைக்கும் சுற்றித்திரிந்து, யூதர்களுக்கே ஒழிய வேறொருவருக்கும் திருவசனத்தைப் பிரசங்கிக்கவில்லை.
Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
அவர்களில் சைப்பிரசு தீவாரும் சிரேனே ஊராருமான சில மனுஷர்கள் அந்தியோகியாவுக்கு வந்து, கிரேக்கருடனே பேசி, கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவைச் சுவிசேஷமாய் அறிவித்தார்கள்.
And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.
கர்த்தருடைய கரம் அவர்களோடே இருந்தது; அநேக ஜனங்கள் விசுவாசிகளாகி கர்த்தரிடத்தில் திரும்பினார்கள்.
And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
அந்தியோகியாவிலுள்ள காரியங்களைப்பற்றி எருசலேமிலுள்ள சபையார் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, பர்னபாவை அந்தியோகியாவரைக்கும் போகும்படி அனுப்பினார்கள்.
Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.
அவன் அங்கே போய்ச் சேர்ந்து, தேவனுடைய கிருபையைக் கண்டபோது சந்தோஷப்பட்டு, கர்த்தரிடத்தில் மனவுறுதியாய்த் தரித்திருக்கும்படி எல்லாருக்கும் புத்திசொன்னான்.
Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
அவன் நல்லவனும், பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலும் விசுவாசத்தினாலும் நிறைந்தவனுமாயிருந்தான்; அநேக ஜனங்கள் கர்த்தரிடத்தில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டார்கள்.
For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.
பின்பு பர்னபா சவுலைத் தேடும்படி தர்சுவுக்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போய்,
Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:
அவனைக் கண்டு, அந்தியோகியாவுக்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வந்தான். அவர்கள் ஒரு வருஷகாலமாய்ச் சபையோடே கூடியிருந்து, அநேக ஜனங்களுக்கு உபதேசித்தார்கள். முதலாவது அந்தியோகியாவிலே சீஷர்களுக்குக் கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் என்று பேரிடப்பட்டது.
And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
அந்நாட்களிலே எருசலேமிலிருந்து சில தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் அந்தியோகியாவுக்கு வந்தார்கள்.
And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.
அவர்களில் அகபு என்னும் பேர்கொண்ட ஒருவன் எழுந்து, உலகமெங்கும் பெரிய பஞ்சமுண்டாகும் என்று ஆவியானவராலே அறிவித்தான்; அது அநேகமாய் கிலவுதியு ராயனுடைய நாட்களில் உண்டாயிற்று.
And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.
அப்பொழுது சீஷர்களில் அவனவன் தன் தன் சக்திக்குத்தக்கதாக யூதேயாவில் குடியிருக்கிற சகோதரர்களுக்கு உதவி அனுப்பவேண்டுமென்று தீர்மானித்தார்கள்.
Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:
அப்படியே அவர்கள் செய்து, பர்னபா சவுல் என்பவர்களின் கையாலே அதை மூப்பர்களிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பினார்கள்.
Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
