உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தின் ஜாதிகளை உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் வேரற்றுப்போகப்பண்ணுவதினால், நீ அவர்கள் தேசத்தைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொண்டு, அவர்கள் பட்டணங்களிலும் அவர்கள் வீடுகளிலும் குடியேறும்போது,
When the LORD your God destroys the nations whose land He is giving you, and you take possession of it and settle in their towns and houses,
நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குச் சுதந்தரிக்கக் கொடுக்கும் உன் தேசத்தின் நடுவிலே, உனக்காக மூன்று பட்டணங்களைப் பிரித்துவைக்கக்கடவாய்.
you shall set apart for yourselves three cities in the land the LORD your God is giving you to possess.
கொலைசெய்தவன் எவனும் அங்கே ஓடிப்போகும்படி உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னைச் சுதந்தரிக்கப்பண்ணப்போகிற உன் தேசத்தின் எல்லையை நீ மூன்று பங்காகப் பகுத்து அதற்கு வழியை உண்டுபண்ணக்கடவாய்.
Prepare the roads and divide the land into three regions, so that anyone who kills another person unintentionally may flee to one of these cities.
கொலைசெய்து அங்கே ஓடிப்போய், உயிரோடிருக்கத்தக்கவன் யாரென்றால்: தான் முன்னே பகைத்திராத பிறனொருவனை மனதறியாமல் கொன்றவன்தானே.
This is the rule concerning anyone who kills another unintentionally without previous hatred and may flee there to save his life.
ஒருவன் விறகுவெட்ட மற்றொருவனோடே காட்டில் போய், மரத்தை வெட்டத் தன் கையிலிருந்த கோடரியை ஓங்கும்போது, இரும்பானது காம்பை விட்டுக் கழன்று மற்றவன்மேல் பட்டதினால் அவன் இறந்துபோனால்,
For example, if a man goes into the forest with his neighbor to cut wood, and the iron head of his axe flies off the handle and strikes his neighbor so that he dies,
இரத்தப்பழிக்காரன் தன் மனம் எரிகையில், கொலைசெய்தவனை வழி தூரமாயிருக்கிறதினாலே பின்தொடர்ந்து பிடித்து, அவனைக் கொன்று போடாதபடிக்கு, இவன் அந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் ஒன்றில் ஓடிப்போய் உயிரோடிருப்பானாக; இவன் அவனை முன்னே பகைக்காதபடியினால், இவன்மேல் சாவுக்கான குற்றம் சுமரவில்லை.
he may flee to one of these cities and save his life. Since he had no previous hatred, he is not deserving of death.
இதினிமித்தம் மூன்று பட்டணங்களை உனக்காகப் பிரித்துவைக்கக்கடவாய் என்று நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறேன்.
That is why I command you to set apart three cities.
நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்தில் அன்புகூர்ந்து, எந்நாளும் அவர் வழிகளில் நடப்பதற்காக, இன்று நான் உனக்குக் கற்பிக்கிற இந்த எல்லாக் கற்பனைகளையும் கைக்கொண்டு அதின்படி செய்து,
If you carefully obey all these commandments, love the LORD your God, and walk in His ways always,
உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன் பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டபடியே, அவர் உன் எல்லையை விஸ்தாரமாக்கி, உன் பிதாக்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று சொன்ன தேசம் முழுவதையும் உனக்குக் கொடுத்தால்,
and if the LORD enlarges your territory as He promised your ancestors, giving you all the land He promised,
அப்பொழுது உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொடுக்கும் உன் தேசத்தில் குற்றமில்லாத இரத்தம் சிந்தப்படுகிறதினால் உன்மேல் இரத்தப்பழி சுமராதபடிக்கு, இந்த மூன்று பட்டணங்களும் அல்லாமல் இன்னும் மூன்று பட்டணங்களை ஏற்படுத்தக்கடவாய்.
then add three more cities of refuge, so that innocent blood will not be shed in your land.
ஒருவன் பிறனொருவனைப் பகைத்து, அவனுக்குப் பதிவிருந்து, அவனுக்கு விரோதமாய் எழும்பி, அவன் சாகும்படி அவனை அடித்து, இந்தப் பட்டணங்களில் ஒன்றில் ஓடிப்போயிருப்பானாகில்,
But if anyone hates his neighbor, lies in wait for him, attacks and kills him, and then flees to one of these cities,
அந்தப் பட்டணத்தின் மூப்பர்கள் ஆள் அனுப்பி, அங்கேயிருந்து அவனைக் கொண்டுவரும்படி செய்து, அவன் சாகும்படிக்கு அவனை இரத்தப்பழி வாங்குகிறவன் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கக்கடவர்கள்.
the elders of his town shall send for him, bring him back, and hand him over to the avenger of blood to die.
உன் கண் அவனுக்கு இரங்கவேண்டாம்; குற்றமில்லாத இரத்தப்பழியை இஸ்ரவேலை விட்டு விலக்கக்கடவாய்; அப்பொழுது நீ நன்றாயிருப்பாய்.
Show him no pity. You must purge from Israel the guilt of shedding innocent blood, so that it may go well with you.
உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தில் உன் கைவசமாயிருக்கும் காணியாட்சியிலே முன்னோர்கள் குறித்திருக்கிற பிறனுடைய எல்லையை ஒற்றிப்போடாயாக.
Do not move your neighbor's boundary stone set up by your predecessors in the inheritance you receive in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
ஒருவன் எந்த அக்கிரமத்தையாவது எந்தப் பாவத்தையாவது செய்தான் என்று சொல்லப்பட்டால், ஒரே சாட்சியினால் நியாயந்தீர்க்கக்கூடாது; இரண்டு மூன்று சாட்சிகளுடைய வாக்கினாலே காரியம் நிலைவரப்படவேண்டும்.
One witness is not enough to convict a person of any crime or offense. A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.
ஒருவன்மேல் ஒரு குற்றத்தைச் சுமத்தும்படி, ஒரு பொய்ச்சாட்சிக்காரன் அவன்மேல் சாட்சிசொல்ல எழும்பினால்,
If a malicious witness comes forward to accuse someone of a crime,
வழக்காடுகிற இருவரும் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் அக்காலத்தில் இருக்கும் ஆசாரியர்களுக்கும் நியாயாதிபதிகளுக்கும் முன்பாக வந்து நிற்பார்களாக.
both parties shall appear before the LORD, before the priests and the judges who are serving at that time.
அப்பொழுது நியாயாதிபதிகள் நன்றாய் விசாரணை செய்யக்கடவர்கள்; சாட்சி கள்ளச்சாட்சி என்றும், தன் சகோதரன் மேல் அபாண்டமாய்க் குற்றஞ்சாற்றினான் என்றும் கண்டால்,
The judges must investigate thoroughly. If the witness proves to be false and has testified falsely against a fellow Israelite,
அவன் தன் சகோதரனுக்குச் செய்ய நினைத்தபடியே அவனுக்குச் செய்யக்கடவீர்கள்; இவ்விதமாய்த் தீமையை உன் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்குவாயாக.
you shall do to the false witness as he intended to do to the other person. You must purge the evil from among you.
மற்றவர்களும் அதைக் கேட்டுப் பயந்து, இனி உங்களுக்குள்ளே அப்படிப்பட்ட தீமையைச் செய்யாதிருப்பார்கள்.
The rest of the people will hear of this and be afraid, and never again will such an evil thing be done among you.
உன் கண் அவனுக்கு இரங்கவேண்டாம்; ஜீவனுக்கு ஜீவன், கண்ணுக்குக் கண், பல்லுக்குப் பல், கைக்குக் கை, காலுக்குக் கால் கொடுக்கப்படவேண்டும்.
Show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
