நீ உன் சத்துருக்களுக்கு எதிராக யுத்தஞ்செய்யப் புறப்பட்டுப்போகையில், குதிரைகளையும் இரதங்களையும், உன்னிலும் பெரிய கூட்டமாகிய ஜனங்களையும் கண்டால், அவர்களுக்குப் பயப்படாயாக; உன்னை எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னோடே இருக்கிறார்.
When you go to war against your enemies and see horses, chariots, and an army larger than yours, do not be afraid of them, for the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, is with you.

When you are about to go into battle, the priest shall come forward and address the army.

He shall say: 'Hear, Israel! Today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not panic or be terrified because of them.'
உங்களுக்காக உங்கள் சத்துருக்களோடே யுத்தம்பண்ணவும் உங்களை இரட்சிக்கவும் உங்களோடேகூடப் போகிறவர் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் என்று சொல்லவேண்டும்.
For the LORD your God is the One who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies and to give you victory.

The officers shall say to the army: 'Has anyone built a new house and not dedicated it? Let him go home, or he may die in battle and someone else dedicate it.'

Has anyone become engaged to a woman and not married her? Let him go home, or he may die in battle and another man marry her.
பின்னும் அதிபதிகள் ஜனங்களுடனே பேசி: பயங்காளியும் திடனற்றவனுமாயிருக்கிறவன் எவனோ, அவன் தன் சகோதரரின் இருதயத்தைத் தன் இருதயத்தைப்போலக் கரைந்துபோகப்பண்ணாதபடிக்கு, தன் வீட்டுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போகக்கடவன் என்று சொல்லவேண்டும்.
Then the officers shall add: 'Is anyone afraid or fainthearted? Let him go home so that he will not discourage the rest of the army.'
அதிபதிகள் ஜனங்களோடே பேசிமுடிந்தபின்பு, ஜனங்களை நடத்தும்படி சேனைத்தலைவரை நியமிக்கக்கடவர்கள்.
When the officers have finished speaking, they shall appoint commanders over the army.
நீ ஒரு பட்டணத்தின்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ண நெருங்கும்போது, அந்தப் பட்டணத்தாருக்குச் சமாதானம் கூறக்கடவாய்.
When you march up to attack a city, first offer it terms of peace.

If they accept your offer and open their gates, all the people in it shall become subject to forced labor and serve you.

If they refuse to make peace and engage you in battle, lay siege to that city.

When the LORD your God delivers it into your hand, put all the men in it to the sword.
ஸ்திரீகளையும் குழந்தைகளையும் மிருகஜீவன்களையும் மாத்திரம் உயிரோடே வைத்து, பட்டணத்திலுள்ள எல்லாவற்றையும் கொள்ளையிட்டு, உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுத்த உன் சத்துருக்களின் கொள்ளைப்பொருளை அநுபவிப்பாயாக.
As for the women, children, livestock, and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves.
இந்த ஜாதிகளைச் சேர்ந்த பட்டணங்களாயிராமல், உனக்கு வெகுதூரத்திலிருக்கிற சகல பட்டணங்களுக்கும் இப்படியே செய்வாயாக.
This is how you are to treat all the cities that are at a distance from you and do not belong to the nearby nations.

However, in the cities of the nations the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes.
அவர்களை உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே சங்காரம்பண்ணக்கடவாய்.
Completely destroy them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites—as the LORD your God has commanded you.

Otherwise they will teach you to follow all the detestable things they do in worshiping their gods, and you will sin against the LORD your God.
நீ ஒரு பட்டணத்தின்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ணி அதைப் பிடிக்க அநேக நாள் அதை முற்றிக்கைபோட்டிருக்கும்போது, நீ கோடரியை ஓங்கி, அதின் மரங்களை வெட்டிச் சேதம்பண்ணாயாக; அவைகளின் கனியை நீ புசிக்கலாமே; ஆகையால் உனக்குக் கொத்தளத்திற்கு உதவுமென்று அவைகளை வெட்டாயாக; வெளியின் விருட்சங்கள் மனுஷனுடைய ஜீவனத்துக்கானவைகள்.
When you lay siege to a city for a long time, do not destroy its fruit trees by putting an axe to them. You may eat their fruit, but do not cut them down, for are the trees people that you should besiege them?
புசிக்கிறதற்கேற்ற கனி கொடாத மரம் என்று நீ அறிந்திருக்கிற மரங்களைமாத்திரம் வெட்டியழித்து, உன்னோடே யுத்தம்பண்ணுகிற பட்டணம் பிடிபடுமட்டும் அதற்கு எதிராகக் கொத்தளம்போடலாம்.
However, you may cut down trees that you know are not fruit trees and use them to build siege works against the city until it falls.
